Well, I will have to say it was a very chilly ride for sure. We ran down to the dam and back right about the time it started to rain. I am still losing bottom depth readings at speeds over 30 mph but that happened to me with the other boat too. I will just use the other graph that is mounted in the dash now for higher speed readings. But I did get much better down imaging results with it mounted to the outside hull. Thanks for the responses and the help. Much better now.

Whatcha think for a cheapie graph with almost the same stuff as a HDS 7???? I like it wish I would have went ahead and bought two now like the wife told me to do. But I was skepticle with how well it would work with the price.....I say go for it if your looking at them.

Jon you know what a tight wad I am. I am always trying to savea buck if possible. I have been in a few boats now with the HDS and SS and I honestly am happy. I could not figure out all the options anyways to run the HDS so why spend the extra money lol.

Hey Lee, I know you will work through the placement of the ducer. I, like I'm sure many other members are looking at the Elite 7 as an upgrade and would like some feedback on this unit. Let us know what your thoughts are about it. Good luck....

Xactly my point!! They didnt have that unit when i purchased my units last year. Well they had DI units but not like that!! Does that unit have GPS?? The pics of Spoonbills are flippin unbelievable!! I tried to snap some pics of it but the way the sunlight was it wouldnt werk out. It shows the bills and the forked tails, simply amazing!!! I am very happy with the HDS now if it would just teach me how to use it lmao!!!!

I will report more once I get to use it out actually fishing here.

Jon, yes it has GPS and it has internal down imaging inside the unit so there is only 1 transducer. I liked that rather than having the long skinny one that you have to try and protect someplace.
