Default Pomme de Terre fish attractor policy (for individuals)

Gene E. Locke, natural resouce manager, has published a policy for individuals placing fish attractors in Pomme de Terre lake. It is referenced on the Fishing page of the Kansas City District of the US Armys Corps of Engineers.
Kansas City District > Locations > District Lakes > Pomme de Terre Lake > Fishing

When clicked on it, the fish attractor policy is in pdf as follows.......
    http://www.nwk.usace.army.mil/Portal...r%20Policy.pdf

The policy looks easy to follow with some common sense where not to place a fish attractor.

Keep in mind each Corps lake will have its own policy for individual fish attractors. Hopefully, other Natural Resource Managers will follow by publishing policies for their lakes. If not, they should be contacted before placing fish attractors in their Corps lake.

I would guess some lakes do not allow individuals to place fish attractors. Basically, anyone wanting to place a fish attractor in a public lake should first find out what the policy is. If the lake is a Corps lake, the Corps of Engineers should be contacted.

The Corps site has other useful information including the "Daily Lake Information" for lake levels and temperatures.

    Hope this helps.

Just earlier this week and before the snow storm we worked with MDC Fisheries Biologists and crew to sink a couple hundred new fish attractors. Worked from two locations. Lindley side, off of L7 and on the Pomme side out of Bolivar Landing. The GPS coordinates should be on MDC's website by mid april hopefully. We were delayed a few times by, mechanical problems, snow storms, and high wind but the crews go the work done so the crappie and other fish will have some new housing developments.

Go to www.mdc.gov/fishing Look or scroll down the page to the lower right and click on Statewide Attractors. Then zoom in on the lake you want and click on that icon. This should give you what you want.

I might point out that the co=ords listed do NOT work when plugged into most gps units we use. They must be converted
    to all decimal co-ordinates first.

I will tell you that because I programmed in the ones listed and they sent me to places completely off the lake.

I used the site below to get the conversions.

GPS Coordinate Converter, Maps and Info

    I hope this helps.

I understand that the download to the phones works very well. I have not used the phone app.

Seems like common sense to me.

They have the coordinates available in a complete downloadable format here.
    Download GPS coordinates
I downloaded and tried to import into my own google map, but it didn't work correctly. No errors, but the attractors were not positioned correctly. I was able to get an app for my Android called GPS Essentials. I then imported the coordinates in to GPS Essentials and it worked perfectly. I am going to do this with the launch ramps too, but I want to apply some better icons to the import. If you don't have GPS Essentials, check it out!
    Nope, not a hockey player!
