    Default braid spinning on spool

Anybody got any suggestions on what kind of knot to tie braided line to the spool to keep it from spinning. I got to the lake place last night and started tying up rods to spider rig friday and all the line was spinning on the reels. I had the knots extremely tight and the line extremely tight to prevent this but it happened anyway. I think it was from the line going from warm temps in my garage at home to extremely cold temps at the garage at the lake. Any suggestions other than tape because I have tried that. If anybody sees a gray xpress with all poles out in the morning letting line out and reeling back in it will be me.

Put a few yards of mono on first as a backer. Then tie your braid to the mono.

Speck is right on. Have to use some mono for backing. I use enough to cover the bottom of the spool. Then tie on braid.

x3 - I always start with a cheap mono, then the braid (saves money as well).

Most of those might work but if they don't I will just trade you some mono for the braid.......... Hope you have a lot of it.....

I always wet braid before I tie it, or spool it onto a reel and have not had a problem even with no backing.

I always fill my spool almost half way with cheap mono. Saves money and u dont need a full spool of braid.

x2 for electrical tape. If that doesnt work idle your boat and let all the line out and reel back in with good tension.
