Try the old channel by the dam for crappie. Use your trolling motor real slow in 16-20' water.
Hi.
My inlaw told me that 3/15 is the beginning of snagging season so I am amped up and hyped. Never caught a spoonbill.
So. My question is (If anyone wants to reveal any secrets) is IF we limit on spoonbills. Are there any places down there around this time that would be good to go for white bass or crappie?
I've never fished down there and I know we will be driving by truman. Going to fish the 15th and 16th.
Also. If anyone has any advice on spoonbill snagging I'm all ears. I bought some 80 pound braid with some big triple hooks and went to bass pro to buy their 6'6" snagging rod with the big reel. Some have said your arms will be worn out quickly.
Thanks for any information you can provide. Will be out there with a brown 2007 lowe FM165

Dester let me tell you have very heavy line, heasvy sinkers big hooks aaaaaa hhhhhhhoooollllleee lot of want to . But when and if you hook one its ssssssoooooooo much fun and work at the same time but worth it. Good luck catch a biggen. I cannot help you on secret spot up there sorry
Hope your ready to see some folks! Boats every where during that time!
Right at the boat launch in Warsaw is an excellent place to catch both crappie and walleye. Basically any slack current off the main river will begin to start holding crappie soon.
your arms will feel like rubber at the end of the day but it is a blast it you hook into one.
Looks like a couple people suggested hitting up warsaw to fish there. So we'll head there. Any lodging places to book a room for the night around that area???
