    Default Mark Twain night fishin

Fished till midnight or so last night, so so results. Put in at Robert E. Allen and fished a couple spots on the bluffs between Pidgeon Roost and Ely. Caught a 1000 fish, kept 26 that were in the 10" range. Biggest was 10 3/4", did'nt see no reason for a pic and was whipped anyway. It was pretty toasty out there, man i'm still sweatin. Caught em on jigs (with the new pumper, works good chubby:D ) color did'nt matter to much, it seemed. The better half done well with a plain minnow rig. They were in the 10 to 12 foot range mostly. Anyway, not much to brag about but it beats not go'in at all. Trailer seemed to tow good and did'nt see no tire wear, hopefully i got it fixed right. Twain has'nt changed(for me anyway), there must be a kazillion 5" crappie in that lake. Rigged up a rod with 3 jigs about 10" apart, 4 times i had 3 of them 5 inchers. Maybe get to Truman next weekend, keeping my fingers crossed...izzy

That was the only problem, bugman. 99% of them thumps were to little. From what i hear work is slowing up a bit, if so i think a morning trip to the lake is in order. If your game, i'll try and give ya a few days notice. I need to get some hours on this boat hehe..izzy

Glad yall got out on the water and not in it......I'm guessing you put the plug in. HAHAHAHAHHAA
Anyway, glad to hear you took the better half. I cant hook up to the boat with out hearing the door shut. What I mean by that is, when I back up the truck to the trailer, I can't get it hooked up before she is all ready sitting in the truck ready to go. Gotta love that woman.

fished MTL saturday morning. first time in three trips that we caught several 11 and 12 inch fish, also several 9 and 10 inch fish. three of us ended up with 37 keepers, quit at 10:00 am, either quit or cook! It was hot, fish suspended 10-12 feet down, caught best fish around two isolated trees 30 feet from any other trees in 20 feet of water. Used orange and yellow slab hunters. And, probably caught 15-20 on those two trees. Keeper to non keeper ratio was about 1 to 1 for us, but if we caught a couple of shorts we quickly moved. Kept moving until we found some better fish, then stayed there a while. Go when you can.
