At a $1000 entry home lake or not i would be a spectator so Duncan you best start looking for a new partner. I mean damn if thats what they gotta do then so be it but at that price all the fun and enjoyment is gone. I would be a nervous wreck the whole time.Hell i wouldn't laugh when Duncan falls in the livewell.
We have a couple sponsors that pay most of our Tourney fees but good god one entry fee would blow that gone and some.
There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.
I can think of about 1000 reasons why I wouldn't pay that much to enter a tournament, like somebody said, the #1 reason would be that it would take all the fun out of it. Plus that's more than my boat is worth. So I'll keep my boat and fish for fun, and then go golfing, and tell everyone I see how I just saved $1000.
Rif-Raf here but y'all have known that for awhile now
A gun, like any other source of power, is a force for either good or evil, being neither in itself, but dependent upon those who possess it
From an old movie I saw
I, for one, am glad to be considered amongst the rif or the raf.
"Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty ia a well-armed lamb contesting the vote." - Benjamin Franklin.
I'm not good enough to put up $500 or $1000. Definately would need sponsors to start putting up that kind of cash.
There's guys that would do it though. Payout to 15 places cuz that's how many boats would fish at $1000.
Of course with inflation, $300 may be equivalent to $1000 in the not too distant future.
Standing in the Gap
Not true! I've still got the twin engine wakeboard boat..Right now I'm looking at a 22' Stroker, he's wanting to deal but I'm going to hold out for awhile. Don't know too much about them other than the fact they are real fast. More than likely will buy another Gambler.
