I have been on vacation at Truman Lake fishing since August 4th. We have caught limits of nice crappie every day.... some days in 1-1/2 hours to 3 hours. Crappie have been on brush off the bluffs. The depth of water has been 15 to 20 feet and fishing 12-15 feet down. Have caught some on pepper spoons, but minnows far exceed artificial bait. My wife finally got me to use minnows... only when she had 12 in the boat and I had 3. Reluctantly I switched to minnows as it was obvious they were doing better. Seems like the bigger fish did not hit hard; they barely hit and you had to be ready.

Seems like if a cold front comes through, wait a day or two and then go out.... fishing was excellent on those days. Today was a little slower due to the cold front and strong north winds.... took 4 hours to catch our limits, especially since I gave my brother my best fishing spot today.

WOULD RECOMMEND FISHING HERE WHILE THIS WEATHER AND CRAPPIE PATTERN STAY THE SAME.
