Just had a beautiful couple hours on Pomme with my son this morning, been a few weeks since we last had a chance to fish together. We fished a patch of standing timber along with two other boats. We shared a friendly nod, how ya doin' or shared a little info and kept on fishing without crowding anyone. Everyone caught fish and no-one had to try to fish the same stump as some-one else. Did have to feel sorry for the 3 guys in a smaller boat who just about got washed out of the lake by some lost guy in a big bass boat. He came flying around the corner and almost ran into the stumps and the smaller boat. Thought for sure that we were going to have to do a rescue.

As I said before, to each his own. I just like spending quality time with my kids and grandkids and finding them enough fish to have fun.

Beagle, if I ever run across you, I'll probably say "Hi" exchange a pleasantry or two and go on about my fishing, because I may only have an hour or two before I have to be somewhere else or my fishing companions aren't catching enough fish.

To me the guy with his wife and two kids should have first priority over the guy by himself, in fact the guy with just his wife also should come first so should the guy with his grandkids, the guy by himself or with a buddy can move on, they are probably there every few days anyway.

Hey Beagle, they ought to be around state park marina in the winter with around 25 boats or at cc with about 30 boats.Might change their attitude.I've always read the post where they say come by,stop and visit.Makes a person wonder.

Crap now I can't fish by myself or I'm like some kind of second class fisherman? I enjoy fishing by myself sometimes; it’s peaceful but I have just as much right to fish wherever I want if my kids and or wife are with me or not.

Beagle you stay the heck AWAY…well unless you have a cold one or a sammich!

Alex and I got REAL close to some of the guys on the KS Board one time on Perry. We asked and they were MORE than accommodating. Heck by the end of the day they were throwing lures in our boat. No not at us for us to use!:Hands Clapping

1st, I really wasn't trying to start a ruckus. Am not anti social, often fish the fish bowl in winter in tight quarters without problems. Was just wondering? This is the first summer I have crappie fished on Truman, I usually Bass fish in spring and summer. So I am not used to other boats coming into an area I am fishing. Bass fishing is different, that's why the tournament bass boats got big motors-who gets there first has that spot. It's a learned behavior, if another boat is there--that's there spot. So crappie fishin is a learning curve for me.

2nd, if I am travellin down the lake and see another boat fishing such as the power line area, I am not gonna slow down and wave unless I recognize U. It is not being snobbish! If I slow down and put the hull in the water, your gonna get more wake disturbance.

3rd, Beagle-what kind of sammys you carry in that sharp lookin new Tracker??? I pack chicken strips and gatorade on in my rig and usually got extra.

4th, above all else I yield fishing area to a bank fisherman. They are not a second class citizen. It's much easier for me to find another spot.

    Default Red Flag

If I am on the lake tied up and someone comes and ties close enough to me I can cast a 1/16 ounce leadhead an hit their boat they are going to get an earfull. Some folks just have no concept of space. If you are in my space I will let you know.
