Lets see if this one shows up better!!!
Got out before daylight and started dipping trees. Didn't catch a fish until the sun came up. Caught all fish in about 12' almost on the bottom. Typical chartreuse, flo. yellow, orange jigs did the trick. While I was dipping trees I came across this prop blade sticking out of a tree stump. This thing was wedged in it bad. The place that the tree is located at isn't somewhere a fellar should be running, so if nobody got hurt, I don't feel very bad. Seems common sense isn't so common anymore!!!
Tight Line & Screaming Drags!!!
Are you using a marabou tail on your jigs? Been catching some on kiptail down here on Truman. We see lots of guys running where they should not be here on Truman. Makes me cringe when I see boats flying through areas that I know there is stumps just under the water. I hit stuff all the time idling out of coves and then see people run the same spots on plane and never hit anything.
Cool. Hard to beat a flared hackle tail.
cool picture, wonder why the fish slept in?,,, nice going on catching fish too.
Went up myself today and ran into Rodney and also Alex and his brother. Caught fish but not many keepers. Caught them as shallow as 4 ft out to about 12 ft. Alex had a few and so did Rodney but none of us were killing them. I did have about a 4lb bass on which was the highlight.
As for the prop, I’ve seen a couple up there and they are usually in a place that makes ya go hhhmmmmmm????
I thought I seen Alex but wasn't to sure. He was far enough in the trees that I wasn't gonna drop the trolling motor to find out. My buddy & I managed a couple limits, but nothing to brag about. Most ran 10"-12". It was a little slower than it has been. We need days like that, keeps us humble!!!
