    Default Truman via Kayak... 4/28

Launched at Shawnee Bend to the wier. Two 12' poles, double/triple jig rigged, trolled over the hump until I scored a limit of mostly big blacks. Only one kept under 10".

Launched below the dam, drifted cut shad all the way to city park in Warsaw. One short of a limit with the biggest a fat female at 8-9#. Nothing like feeling that "thump" then seeing that rod bend deeply when sitting right at water level in a kayak.

Good day of fishing, five quarts of fish put up with cat for dinner tonight... fresh... never frozen.

It is the temp dam they built in front of the dam while building Truman Dam. Not hard to find, it will be where all the boats are.

Sounds like a great time on the water! The kayak will probably be a purchase for me down the road once the boat sells. At least I will still be able to get out on the water. Good job bud.

I am using a Mad River Synergy 14

14' long, 30" wide, weights about 64# stock, add battery for electronics, rod holders, anchor trolley, etc and I'm probably at about 75# before I start loading it down for a fishing trip with gear. It is a sit on top type, but you are very low and it has some higher than normal sides. Very dry ride.

I also have an Ascend D10 (Bass Pro's brand made by Tracker) and it is 10' long and a sit in type. I'm going to have to say that after about a dozen trips it is proven that longer is more effecient for paddling and sit on kayaks are much easier to get in/out of by far.
