    Default Mark Twain Access Point

Can anyone tell me what the launch area is at the end of Highway N in Indian Creek area? Is the road to it blacktop or gravel and what about the the ramp? Courtesy dock, parking, fish cleaning station ??. I'm just looking for a closer access point to Little Indian than Spaulding

Hunter /fisherman ramp #11 that can be a long ride by road depending were you come from.

RT N turns into gravel about half a mile or more before you get to the boat ramp. The parking lot is gravel, there is NO courtesy dock, NO fish cleaning station, no nothing else either.

Spaulding is the closest full amenities ramp to the Indian Creek areas of the lake. Plus since you are coming from STL you'll just add to your drive. Now....if you are fishing out of a small boat and are concerned about wind or having enough fuel to make the run from Spaulding up into indian and back then RT N would be a good choice if you don't mind sacrificing the courtesy dock and fish cleaning station.

Archer thanks for the info. The boat is plenty big, and less than a year old so i didn't want to travel on gravel if i had a choice, so it looks like Spaulding it is. The real question is ???? Are there any crappie worth chasing up in the Indian Creek areas?

I've been fishing a LOT lately but I haven't been to either Indian or little Indian. I did see some guys at the fish cleaning station who said they had fished Indian. They had a NICE mess of mostly black crappie and ALL males. They caught them fairly shallow which to me means the males are moving in and getting ready....females shouldn't be too far behind. Forecast for Friday night says a low of 36...might bring a nice jacket and some gloves for the boat ride. Saturday is showing partly cloudy...high of 61 which will be comfortable.

    GOOD LUCK....I'll be working!!
