Great question Red Ranger. I have the same question and watchin the response close. Good opportunity to learn from the pro's rather than mistakes. I usually learn from my mistakes! LOL

I'm gonna be using my 11 footers when/if I get my racks built. They should work fine on Truman. I catch lots of fish when holding them. I see no reason why they wouldn't catch fish while in a rod holder.

Grizzly Jig and Monkscrappie.com. They both have special pricing of buying 3 or more. I think monks you have to buy 4 or more. Which is not a issue because you will need more 4-8 rods anyway.

B'n'M run $35-$80 depending in which one you want and how long. I started with some $12.50 Silstar limit series. That were actually pretty nice rods for the money. Would be a cheap way to figure out of you like rigging or not with costing you a ton of money.

I started with 12's and still use them. Not too long, and not to short to spook the fish, unless your in super clear water.
    Life is good today.

We have some 12ft outlaws and really like them for single pole fishing, but recently bought a bass pro rod called Crappie Maxx moderate action. It is also 12ft, and we liked enough to buy 5 more last week. Used them this weekend and loved them. Got into decent fish and horsed them right in no problem. Everbody is going to have favorites.

Cabelas Whuppin Sticks 12' are hard to beat for the toughness and price. Around $20. I've used them for years and if you break one, march into Cabelas when you are in St. Louis or KC and they will replace it, no questions asked. 10yr warranty

some i have picked up seem very soft tiped, the onlt 12' i have picked up was the outlaw and it seemed to have a faster tip and i liked that alot.... i would think you would want a stiffer rod out to about the last 2' or so...does the b&m have a fast tip?

Yes they do. You are going to want a little flex/bend in the rod. It will help take the bounce out of the baits when the boat is moving from waves and able to see a light bite.

I've got 9 16' capps and coleman for sale. 8 were used one season, the 9th is new in plastic. I'll take $30 a piece for if you want them. Buyer pays shipping.
