Default Solid Cork Handle 10' Rod???

Does anyone make a 10' rod(or something close) with what I believe you call a "Tennessee Handle". I would like something I can move the reel anywhere on? I would like to get the real closer to the front of the handle. Has anyone seen anything like that? Thanks! Matt

Matt my Ozark Rod is fixed and it is already balanced good. I have got Fenwick Crappie rods that have the type of handle your talking about and I am always loosing the reel off the handle. The only reason I keep the rods is because they are great short rods for close in action.

Try putting some handle weights on the end of the handle if you don't like the balance of the rod and reel.

I love this type of rod myself but I always wrap them with cloth tape for security and comfort. I'd take one of those over the traditional threaded reel seat anytime.

As far as the 10' rods with those handles, I can't help with that.

Check out the outlaw poles, they have a fixed reel seat, but I dont think you would be disapointed. They balance out well, and have great sensitivity and backbone. Send Alwaysfishin a pm if you want to know more about them. I bought a 9' tennessee handle jigging rod from grizzly a few years ago, it is called st.clair gold and they make them from 7' to 12' rods. They do not have spinning rod eyes, decent pole, but I would rather use my outlaw rods. To keep your reel in place once you decide the rod and reels balance point you need to use electric tape over the rings. good luck

A very good one but not cheap is the Quantum. They use to be called the Huckabee series. They have several sizes available. I think you can get them at the Tightwad C Store still. If they do not have them Mike or Mark can get them I am sure. That is what they use. I had one in a 9' that I used for about 4 years and loved it. I used a reel wrap on it once I got the reel where I wanted it. I believe the JJ's use these also. Maybe you could see one of theirs at the March tournament. I still got your jigs. Shoot me a PM with your address and I will mail them to you do you will have them next time you get out.

Actually the Quantum Huckabee rod is no longer made by Quantum but there are still some of the old styles around if you can find them..Jared is correct on the C store they did have 1 left a few weeks ago..I talked to Todd Huckabee a few weeks ago & his rods are being made by a different co now & will be aviable sometime this spring...I have a 10 ft dipping stick I would let you try out if you wanted to..

I did see the C store had one the other day. Glad to hear he'll be coming out with more of them. It looked like a nice rod, I'll have to check it out sometime. Thanks!

70SS, if you barrow a rod from Just Jiggin, make sure its Gary's rod and not Sue's. Gary's will be like brand new, Sue's may be a bit tattered and may be wore out from catching big ole hogs!.....
