Default Stockton in a dangerous conditions!

Fished the winter series tourney today. None of our spots we have been catching fish on were fishable so we tried to put in at cedar ridge and fished a few plan B's. We did and shouldn't have. A NW wind is the worst possible wind for that area as you just can't get away from it, but we tried it anyway and while we did catch several fish in the white caps we just couldn't catch any big fish. We started to run to another place on the west side of ramp and it scared the hell out of us so we loaded and left and spent the rest of the day fishing in the state park to get out of the ocean.

We took 7 to the scales between 11.5 and 12.185 but that wasn't enough by 3 places. Had a lot of fun and enjoyed the day but it was scary on the little sac arm. In 5hrs we caught 40 keepers just couldn't get the big boys. The run we had from just below the 245 bridge to the cedar ridge ramp around 11am was the worst I have ever been in. We got back to the ramp and took a time out to talk about how dumb we are and that was the worst conditions we ever tried to fish in. Not smart.

Congrats, or WTF to all that fished today. HA

Glad you made it outta there safe and with some fish Gotto. I dont know why someone doesnt come up with an idea to harness that wind ala Wind Mills some how on Stocton. Should be enough wind through there to power Southern MO on most any day.

Even though the wind was horrible and water conditions were dangerous the fishing sounds a lot better then the cleaning of the iron stains out of the toilets at the happy O's resort that I was doing. The muriatic acid I was heating up to break down the stains was pretty dangerous in it self, but I got the dam things clean and i didn't kill myself. Hopefully I will be taking some more fishing lesson from Fred here real soon.

Did you catch many over in the State Park cove, or get most of them on the Little Sac?

Glad you guys got off ok. I've been on that arm of the lake more than once when I shouldn't have been and vowed to never go back when it was like that.

Sounds like a really rough time on the water. Glad you guys made it out alright. Tell me...how do you even fish water that rough? I'd think it would have to be single pole fishing over some kind of structure since the rods would bounce so much in holders with it that rough.
