    Default Stockton 12/24-12/26

Christams eve I had a friend in from St.Louis and we hit the water at 2pm. I told him it had been hit and miss but be patient and we would find out fish. First bed we stopped at we pulled out 24 keepers in 45min. It was fast a furious. That bite slowed so on to spot number two and it took us the same amount of time to catch the rest. He knows how to fish but I told him that was not the norm and he had just been on a dang hot bed.

Christmas day I hit the lake when the boys took a nap and went alone. Man you talk about a nice day on the water. Sunshine no wind and just awesome. Tried fishing some spots I hadnt fished all winter and it was very spotty. Catch 6 or 7 hear then nothing or maybe one or two, then find another good one. Covered a lot of ground and only found a couple good beds. I turned everything back so I could make it to my evening christmas dinner and not have to clean fish.

Today another friend met up with me and my friend from Christmas eve and we hit the lake in the rain. Saw Mark Keller and I think they were putting some fish in the boat. It was cold and rainy but when we left we had 3 limits of fish. It was the same very spotty bite. We would fish a bed that was hot, then the next 3 or 4 only a few fish. Just had to stay with it. All fish all three days on black/Chart tubes, on beds from 22-42ft. I landed a 14.5 and 14.75 today and that is rare for me. Only a few fish all year over 14. No, I couldnt catch those fish in a tourney if my life depended on it.

Great job today Jason we struggled. I should have moved more but after we got wet it was cold moving and I did not feel like freezing us out.

Thanks guys and Dreamer I can assure you that I can struggle as much as the next guy. We just happend to pull onto the right bed at the right time. It was just a spot that can and has been good at times but had nothing to do with my mad skills as a crappie angler. Just a place to start and it worked that day.

Glad to see you as well today, good to see some guys had a great day. I caught fish, needless to say it was a long, wet, trying day. I have a lot to learn to get in your guys league.

Thanks all. I know the biggest stuggle I used to have in Winter fishing was not having enough deep beds. 30-40ft range. A chainsaw and a friend have helped solve that problem over the years.

Mark I failed to mention that we fished for 5 hours yesterday so we sure wernt tearing them up. Each man averaged 3 keepers per hour.
