Truman Turnaround
So as to not post just the good reports today was a mediocre catch day for us. Been decent fishing creeks about halfway back last couple times we had tried it, concentrating on areas where shad were present. Fish were scattered today, deeper, seemingly less active and smaller. We did manage a couple legal limits, maybe slightly over, brought in 8 for Sunday dinner. Fishing can spoil you and then humble you soon after. And sometimes exploring new stuff pays off and sometimes not. But we had two different areas all to ourselves, had a great weather day and the poor guy I drug along with big promises didn't throw me out of the boat due to my poor guiding, maybe it wasn't so bad after all. 43-45 water temp, 8-14 down over 15-25, black/chart and orange/chart mainly. As the guy I was with so eloquently says "sometimes you're the bug and sometimes you're the windshield".

Great post Kaz. Makes those good days seem even better. Yesterday was the worst day I have bad since August and we still managed limits. Pretty sad when I call that a bad day. Because it took us 4 hours to complete a limit of good fish. It has been a great year for sure and have had many more good days than bad for sure. I am sure a reality check is coming my way before long. Any day on the water with out any trouble is a good day. So congrats on a good day.

Shucks and I was going to call you and see how you done.......... I think we all need a slap in the face once a while...... but the bright side is , no flat tire, no holes in boat, put up with alley cat, ( now that could be a bad day), I would say you had a great day.....thanks for the post........

you said it jared, any day on the water without trouble is a good day. heck baller and i started fishing at 7:30 and did'nt get a legal limit til around 2! and we still considered it a great fishing day!Thumbs Up
