Default Starting to come to the banks

I live in northeast Missouri and yesterday fished a local lake that is overstocked with crappie and the limit is 30. A buddy and I caught a total of 30 and 7 of them were very nice ( two of which were 15"). The rest were in the 7 to 10 inch range. This afternoon I went back out and due to the wind had to fish in a small shallow cove. I ended up catching my thirty in 2 hours. Nothing to brag about size wise, but they were sure fun to catch. Most of them were within two to five feet from the bank.

Well the past few days I have fished two different lakes. At one lake my family and I caught 52 last night and they 2 - 3 feet from the bank. We were casting to it and reelling back slow. I fishe Thomas Hill this morning and although two of us caught our limits, they were spotty. Most of what we caught wer 4 -5 feet from the bank.

    Hey flyfisherman,

I fished Thomas Hill this morning as well, had about the same results. 6 nice fish and the other 9 were 9" to 10". You fish there much?

I used to fish Thomas Hill when I lived in Moberly. Always seemed to catch more catfish than anything else even though I wasn't fishing for em. :o

Crichison- Yes, I fish there often particularly during the spring. I also fish Macon Ciity lake and Long Branch. I fish out of a white Starcraft boot. If you happen to see me there give me a shout. WE went back Sunday afternoon and four of us caught 25. It was pretty windy.

I live right next to Longbranch lake, and can be in the water in about 10 min. Tried it on Sunday, bout got blowed off the lake. Water temp still in the low 60's for the most part, did find some shallows that were upper 60's. If I see you around I'll hollar, good luck to ya.
