    Default smithville thursday

Hit the brush piles by the handicap dock. Zip. Tied off to trees in 20ft and also 10 ft along the south bank on both sides of the Camp Branch bridge, we caught one shorty in 4.5 hours.

South and east of the Litton Center we tied up to a tree next to a rocky point and caught a keeper Walleye and another walleye. We worked that area awhile with a minnow on a bare hook along with red rattletraps, cranks, etc., and only caught one other small walleye.

Looking forward to my Father In Law's visit Sunday-Wednesday. He's dying to fish and a good fisherman. Incidentally he's fighting his 4th bout with cancer. So if anyone can help me help him have a successful trip on the lake, I'd be VERY, VERY grateful.

    Thanks and good luck!

Bruce, I was up at the lake yesterday too. Corp is letting out water and it has slowed the bite. Seems like the further you go up the lake, the better the bite. The fish were not aggressive. They wanted the bait in their face and held still. Best bite was in water 10-15' deep. Good luck.

Thanks Alex. I noticed the draw down as I went through Smithville on the way up. It's crazy how that affects the bite, but it does seem to when they do it.

Due to the wind, we didn't go up north.
