Wow what a day on the lake. Seems like I've finally gotten the confidence in the spider rigging, and we are catching some great fish! That coupled with the new HB 788 DI on the front of the boat and fishing has a whole new meaning. The HB reveals things never before seen in bottom structure, bait fish and schooling crappie. I took some amazing screen shots today but didn’t have an SD card installed, next time I’m on the water ill export them to a card and post the picks. Anyway here is the long and short of today’s fishing, lost count of the keepers but had a great day with a good friend and my son. Also had good conversation with a conservation agent looking for a fishing report.

Glad you are getting it figured out. This is my 5th year rigging and still learning. I have been working on my shallow water trolling for later in the year. Also working now for the bigger fish. Should have been doing it at nationals but my tournament partner had never done it. So lots of practice for him this year. The out of staters came in here and cleaned our clocks by trolling real shallow. It is tough but can be done and is effective. All of our big tournament size fish this spring have came from less than 7ft of water. The better numbers are out in 9-15 ft of water but the big females that are active have been up shallow on wood or very close to it. Keep with it as it will be very effective until after the spawn. Sure is nice out today compared to yesterday.

Congrats on the great day. Don't get much bettern that.
We do not want the gift of a fish; neither do we expect a lesson on fishing; what we direly need is a chance to fish

Nice job. Seen several rigging today but don't think we crossed paths. Sounds like you had a good day.
