Absolutely. Just like any other time, though, it depends on what they're wanting. Jigs may outproduce.
Can a fella still catch crappie on minows off the docks this time of the year, or do I need to be jig fishing? Ive always just used minows in the spring, summer, and fall. Thanks

Cook is a person you can talk to about dock fishing.

i dont use minnows, but thinking about it soon after this next cold front.best bet at smithville docks with a minnow get the smallest ones you can find[the ones you can soo through]get your favorite slipbobber set up. set it anywhere from 12 to 15 feet, lots of brush in the slips from fish cleaning station to the marina office.go from slip to slip out in the uncovered part until you find them.if you go under the cover set slip 20 feet or deeper.went yesterday mornin caught 4 small black crappie in 3 hours.hope this helps, its 2 in the mornin and im on my way to jacomo to set up lights, been catchin some nice ones out there.
I don't much have the patience for it but minnows can be deadly this time of year,if i were to use em it would be in the heat of the summer and the dead of winter.
