Default Table Rock was Terrible Rock

Put in at Flat Creek around 10:00, fished until 5:30 and only had two shorts and one White Bass all day
Fished Flat Creek down to Point 15 then went up the James 3/4 mile or so where Kit and I fished a couple of weeks ago. No luck there and almost got swamped by some numbskull on a deck boat doing about 20 mph 20 feet or so from me. I saw he was throwing a huge wake, so turned the bow into it. Rode the first wave ok, but the second wave hit as the bow dipped and about a foot of water broke over the bow! Ticked me off, but what'cha gonna do?
There were Spoonbill snaggers everywhere you turned, so it was tough finding a spot to fish where they weren't practically running over you.

Left there and went to Peach Orchard, but only one shorty there. Tried a last shot in the cove at Bridgeport, but nothing there either.

Was using one rig with minnows, one with a minnow and a jig and another with two jigs. Only caught fish on the jigs. Did have a couple of hits on the minnows, but think it was Whites as they thumped it pretty hard.

Water was 50 to 51º and fish were in 12 to 18 FOW most places. As discouraged as I got, I didn't resort to tossing a Jig for Bass although I was terribly tempted just so I could at least catch something!:D Maybe another 50 trips or so and I might learn how to catch these darned Crappie!

On the plus side, I didn't loose a trolling motor prop today!:D

We caught some on Table Rock yesterday all on jigs at the mouth of Flat Creek. Also had biteme throws us a few of his that he didnt want to clean. Just have to locate the brush and keep fishin it, because for every keeper there is 3 or 4 shorts. We ended up with 10 crappie, (6 of which were 11 in. or better) and 9 whites.

    Cool radio active

i did see you i was going back and forth from bridgeport to the back of flat creek. I was in the camo express with the black lab. I seen your partner pointing to my dog as i was going by you under the bridge i think. It was a tough day on the rock. If you hang in there it will get better. I have had some awesome days down there in the spring. The crappie cannt figure out what to do with this weather. I did catch a couple in 8 ft of water trying to warm up. i caught 4 keepers and 20 nojoes and i mean bad nojoes. I caught more nojoes yesterday than i caught all of last year on the rock and i fish it hard in the spring. i live 25 min from flat creek so fish it pretty hard in the spring. I hope to see you some day down there. Good fishing

I was by myself, so must have been someone else. I don't recall seeing a camo boat with a Lab, but we were in the same general area.

Glad you had better luck than I did:D I never fished for them before this Spring so I have a lot to learn
