Anytime you fish with a 10' pole its likely you'll break the tip, it doesn't matter what brand you use it will happen, just make sure you carring a spare tip, I do. Tony has been great with replacing them and thats probaly why he is running short.

There are several quality rods out there and everybody has a different preference. I have and use both Outlaw and Ozark rods, as well as several others such as All Star, St Croix, Falcon, Pro Angler, etc.... All of them are excellent rods, there are things I like about each that the next does not have and I'm not ashamed to grab any of these rods at any time.

The best thing about the Outlaws and Ozarks are the price, very reasonable for a great rod. When comparing the price to other rods in that price range they will beat any comparable rod hands down.

Thanks to the Edgars for producing a great product, some of the family post on the site and are very helpful.

Thanks to JR for putting out a great product, he has been posting on the site and been very helpful.

To all keep up the good work. To any wanting a new rod buy one of each and you'll be impressed!

Bingo there Buddy, I have the biggest conglomeration of rods, lengths, brands, fast tip, not so fast, light, heavy, rear seat, forward seat, etc you will probably find, got a shed full of em. Had a ball experimenting with each and wouldn't do it any other way. Ditto,,,"to each his own".

Many years ago I broke a telescopic pole I dipped with and had a cheap flyrod so I cut the flyrod to fit the bottom 2 sections of the telescopic pole. The flyrod end was a bit flimsy but there aint no telling how many crappie I put in the boat with that thing.

The best thing about having alot of choices in crappie rods is that there is a good possibility that anyone should be able to find one they like.....Heck, I don't even like the action on some of my own rods, at least for my taste.... some like a fast tip, some not so fast, I have a buddy that wants one stiff as a club! If you find a rod that suits your taste, thats the one you will have confidence in...use it and enjoy it..... I have used Tony's Ozark poles and like them......I think all that design rods will agree that we are not out to sell our poles to everyone.....But competition makes us better, smarter and makes us work harder for what we believe in......LET'S Just GO Fishin.......

That is all I needed to hear. I'm gettin a crappie rod or two. With all the moving around you do in the boat, dippin in and out of trees and limbs, loading/unloading, etc, ain't no way I'll be taking my Orvis Zero Gravity (price? don't ask!) out on the lake. I have to agree with the majority, a couple of reasonably priced crappie rods in a couple of different lengths makes a whole lot of sense. Dang, and here I thought that I had all of the toys that I would be needing for the upcoming season!
We do not want the gift of a fish; neither do we expect a lesson on fishing; what we direly need is a chance to fish

    Question

Ok guys, I'm new to crappie fishing with 10' crappie rods.
I've only used one once for a short time.
What would be a good choose??
Light in physical weight and enough back bone to pull a slab out of a brush pile.
    Thanks,
    Rick

Ozark or Outlaw. They are in the $40 to $45 range and great rods.
