I used to use it. I know Bugs and Beagle use it, too -- and they're great crappie fisherman -- but I got sick of retying when using it.

I switched to hi-vis braid. Same yellow color as Wally's line, but it bends the hook instead of breaking the line and having to re-tie. Deciding which braid is best is kind of a Chevy vs. Ford thing, but I like the Cabela's Ripcord SI in 10 lb. strength/2 lb. diameter. The key is to find what you like. I would recomend the hi-vis, tho, regardless of what you choose.

    Good luck.

There's pro's and con's for all lines i like mono for the stretch and because it will break when hung in the brush,it keeps the brushpile in place instead of moving it and spooking the fish like braid will.If a person fished trees all the time i can see where braid would be handy.

x2 I got a spool of high vis, and one of Camo. I dont know how much the camo helps, I've never had any spook problems with the high vis, but if the water is clear and I cant get a bite I will switch spools to try. To me it seems a lot tougher than 6lb. I've usually got to warp the line in my shirt to break it without cutting my hand.

Is the vicious line cheaper than regular stren? I use the stren high vis gold in 6lb. and love it.

I have used it a lot in the past, sometimes it worked great and sometimes I had several problems with it. I don't use mono much anymore becuase I use floro or braid.

There was a thread, I think on the main forum a few months back, some loved it some hated it. Interesting thing was the guys noticed it was made in different places. One spool was made it one country while the next in another. I went and looked at a couple of spools I had and they were made in different places. As it turned out the guys who loved it their spools all came from one country and the guys who hated it had spools from two other countries. I guess it was just how the stuff was manufactured.

You shouldn't have much problem but if you do BPS is always great about taking stuff back. I'm sure you will enjoy!

I am trying it also, I have only been out with it once. Very flexible in cold weather. It doesn't seem to be as strong as Mr Crappie. So far I like it.
