    Default gulp minnows

Has anyone here had any luck crappie fishing with "gulp minnows"? I met two oldtimers on the Mississippi river who say they never buy real minnows anymore for crappie fishing after they started using gulp minnows.

Yea, same here. Tried them a couple of times and nothing. I haven't given up yet but don't have much faith in them and I think that's a big part, having faith in your bait.

I've fished em a few times and have caught fish with them. However, SlabBusters and BG's outfished them so I don't use them anymore.

I've tried them several times when I was running short on minnows and never had a bite. I haven't given up just yet, but it wouldn't take too much more for me to toss them. They are a bit pricey, too! JMO

Yes, I use them mainly in the fall on a tightline rig. I use the black shad or emerald shiner in 3" on a 1/16 OZ (have to also use a longer shank hook). I've had really good luck with them. I also use the gulp 2" curly tail grub. Of course I also use slab busters, yum tubes, southern pro tubes, etc, etc. Just depends on the particular day. I can't remember the last time I used a minnow.

yeah they are a bit pricey, like $18 or $20 bucks for that little bucket that leaks all over the boat. I had better luck with those little .96 cent jigs from walmart

i asked the same question the first time that i saw them at Everharts, they were just too pricey to pick up on a whim... and i got the same results as above, most had no luck but some did.

i remember someone saying in the past that they would dip their jigs in the gulp juice for scent and liked that...

i did buy some Uncle Josh's minnows in a jar (real but dead) and never caught anything on them. when minnows were hot, i'd try and put one on and nothing...
Why do I have to press 1 for English?
