Sold the skiff and bought a Ranger '94 model Fisherman 681C. It's a trollers paradise.

I fish out of a Champion "Mean 16" ... very small bassboat. Love the stability. Wish it were 2' longer. Keep drooling over pics of the 18' Crestliner Fishhawk... Would probably blow around more, though. Oh well, this one's paid for! Would probably spend the extra money (if I had it) on a slip at Smithville so I could do spontaneous night trips and forget about the hassle of putting the boat away afterwards.

I fish out of an aluminum 17" V Sea Nymph. This boat is set up nice with front and rear live wells. The fuel tank is in the middle of the boat which makes the boat plane out real nice. It has a 90 hp Evinrude which gives it plenty of power. Im always looking at the fiberglass boats to buy but i would probally get upset when i bang trees and docks.

Started out with an old wore out set sneakers. Got a set of hip boots thought i was in hog heaven. LOng story short.Have had 9 glass boats retired have 175 tracker with 60hp/4 enjoy it very much. Been on stock. in the best and worst. Over all a good boat handles well in rough water. Just wish it was set up 24volt. Being an old welder I might change that. They are all good boats just depends what lay out you want.Also trust your driving skills. No better trainng than by the seat of the pants. NOTE every boat I have ever had I put my jacket on in the roughist water i could find and learned what I COULD do what i t and couldn't do with the boat and what it could do for me. After many years running boats it been a fun trip. I love running big boats and even my little 60HP. When i want the wind in my hair my son has a big boat with a 250HP. I still love to run it. I will never lose that want.

I know I posted what boat I have, but I have been thinking of getting another boat just made for crappie! Well to be honest I would like to have it made with everything I want, but they just dont make'em that way. But I would say for starters to have livewells and baitwells in front and back with good aerators is a start. Room in front for two. Plenty of storage and rod holders that will allow for all lengths of poles to be carried. Good electronics at front and console, low geared motor, and strong trolling motor. Be rock solid in open waters. Be able to take whatever the stump fields can throw at it. Maybe one that can double as a Duck blind boat during the season. Mounts for lighting and spot lights for night fishing and navigation. And a good bilge system! Just in case things go bad!

i have a g3 hp190. i love it. it has a performance bass hull so it rides good and sets pretty low in the water. love the deck space on it. it is 19 foot and has a 150 yamaha vmax. thought it was a little bit bigger than what i was looking for when i bought it, but i wouldn't trade it for anything different now!!!
