I haven't heard of it, Ice yes, is this article on the Internet? if so is there a link, I'm curious.
Do any of you bleed and ice fish you are going to keep? I have read where it improves the flesh. The article was about trout and salmon but I have heard of some folks doing it to crappie also. Just wondering.

cut the tails off of blue cats as soon as they die skin and clean meat is as white as snow
wouldn't placing fish on ice cause a hypothermic state of shock prior to death from anoxia? Both states causing pooling of blood to major organs in the fish negating the bleeding out of fish.
i not eating organs eating white meat
Always bleed fish out. Cut at an angle from in front of the tail bottom part. Cutting up and when you hit it you know. As any fish starts bleeding out. After this meat is snow white. Crappie or catfish both I do this way. We have been doing it for years.

I Was Taught By A Trout Fisherman To Bleed Out Trout As Soon As Possible. I Don't Know If It Makes Any Difference Or Not Because I Don't Eat Trout.
In Hot Weather I Always Ice Crappie Normally I Haul Them Home To Clean Them. Usually When I Put The Water Hose To Them In The Cleaning Bucket They Will Come Back To Life.
