One thing I have noticed in the last 3 weeks there is that on the first week, the water was 90*+-, this last weekend, it was 83. I would imagine that would affect how they were biting. We were out on the Crownline just cruising around w/ some friends this time.

ONE OF MY BEST DAYS UP THERE FISHING FOR CRAPPIE IT WAS 105 IN THE SHADE. AND I WAS IN A SMALL 16' FOOT V BOTTOM AND I MUST ADMIT IT WAS ONE OF THE HOTEST DAYS ON THE LAKE! BUT I SOME HOW FOUND THEM AND I STILL HAVE ONE OF THEM ON THE WALL! EX WIFES UNCLE AND I ENDED UP WITH 25! AND THIS WAS ABOUT 1 TO 2 PM IN THE AFTERNOON. DIDN'T HAVE A COOLER FOR DRINKS IN THE BOAT! LIKED TO ALMOST DIED! BUT THE FISHING WAS SO GOOD!

I AM GOING TO TRY TO HIT POMME IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS! MAYBE IN THE MORNING DEPENDING ON THE WEATHER.

Thought I would give a report of our trip -

We decided to camp on the Pittsburg side of the Pomme De Terre state park. If you havent been to this campground I highly recommend it, the views of the lake were incredible and the entire campground is filled with trees.

I had some issues with the boat but I got plenty of time in to fish. Unfortunately I didn't catch many fish but the weather was fantastic and the entire family had a great time, even saw some of the freshwater jellyfish that were mentioned in another thread. Hopefully next time I head down there I can spend even more time fishing and maybe land a few for the fryer.

Glad you had a good time with the family. The fish may not have cooperated, but you sure hit the weather right!

You definately hit the nail on the head about the weather. Honestly I don't know why that lake doesnt have more people on it. It's such a gorgeous lake and the water was just beautiful. If I could find a decent job Id probably move! Unfortunately I doubt there is much call for people in my line of work down there.

No NO... its shallow, it has a lot of stickups, the water always nasty, the fishing is terrible, and the people are unfriendly. That's what you should be telling people :D

Really What You Need To Tell Anyone About Pomme De Terre Is That There Are Big Muskie In The Lake! And When People Swim In It Sometimes They Loose Body Parts! And When You Put Your Hands In The Water Out Of A Boat Sometimes The Muskie Will Come Up And Hit The Rings On Your Fingers!

Hey I Know For A Fact That Some Of The Locals Tell Stories Like That Up There! Lol!
