Thread: 4 Stroke or 2 Stroke?

I change the oil in my motor
every time I go to the lake.

4 strokes are more expensive to maintain than 2 strokes.4 strokes are heavier and slower.
The only thing right about a 4 stroke is the idling issue. They will run at idle without fouling plugs. Other than that I would not have one.

If 4 strokes were so great wouldn't every touring pro be running a Verado? They don't they run Optimax's and HDPI yamaha's.

Thanks everyone for your input on my questions. I ordered a Nissan 40 DFI 2-stroke yesterday. Got a great deal at Chuck's Marine in Southaven. I should be back on the lake in another week...going through fishing withdrawal here.

Hey guys, I just joined today so this is my first post. I did a search for non-ethanol fuel in the Memphis area and someone on one of the car forums reported that the station right out from the Olive Branch Airport sells it. I'll try to swing by there and check it out in the next couple of days. I need to find some for my lawnmowers and weedwackers. (And outboard)

BTW, is there a Welcome thread somewhere on this board? I looked around a couple of places and didn't see anything. I'd add to it and introduce myself if there is.

Oh, forgot to mention, theres only 1 station in Grenada that has no Ethanol as far as I know - the one on the South side of Sonic.

Yep, and pretty sure Morgan's in Elliott is ethenol free as well.
