Thought about that, yeah 7 would be better and reduce ties I s'pose. As far as the first one goes? I dunno, I'm just driving this bus, somebody else is gonna have to navigate.

I was kind of waiting to hear back from everyone before starting to put together any actual dates. Wanted to see if we need to adjust the outline of the rules or payback etc.

Anybody got any scales we could use?

And on the payout. Assuming we payback 1 spot for every 7 boats ($20 of every $25) collected....With 21 boats, that would make $420 available for payback. What would the spit need to be between 1st, 2nd, 3rd? - Say 50%, 30%, 20% or $210, $126, $84? Or should that be loaded a little heavier to 1st?

Ai'e, so say we have 3 Ts with 21 boats each, that puts in $315 for the championship, plus 10 boats at another $25 for a total pot of $250 and a toal of $565 available. Should we do a winner take all there or do a 70/30 for $395/$170?

And how the heck would we handle it if, say 26 boats showed...what do you do with the extra? I guess it would just go to the pot and you'd still only pay 3 places????

Who's gonna step up and be the official mathemetician on this thing?

They gotta be live or what?

I think 5 bucks or so should be keld out of every entry fee and pooled up for the Big Winners Tournament at the end of the year....All the teams that place or make the payout get to fish in a Pre paid winner take all tourney.

Everything sounds good to me, BUT the prob I see is having change at every even, what if you nee to pay out 84 dollars, and all you have is 20's and 5's? PLUS what if someone pays with a check? Cash only? Who's gonna be the treasurer?

WB, make the polls, I'll sticky...

Making change aint that bad if only one person would bring 25 ones for their entry fee. That person could be the treasurer. My experience with tourneys is the more places you pay back, the more boats will show up. Besides this is purty much for fun aint it? You aint gonna get rich fishing any club tourneys. If a feller can win enough to cover his entry fees for the year he has done something. Try this and then next year get members for bout a 30 dollar club dues, going to the big pot and maybe even get club members to pick up a few tourney sponsors. Elect you a few suckers, I mean officers, Then get you a web site and a 501c non-profit status and some insurance and you got yourself a club. Nuthin to WB. You can do it. Can't you?

My wife works at a bank, but please don't throw her into the same category as WB!

I'm sure she wouldn't mind helping out with the treasurer part and possibly opening an account to hold money, make sure there is correct change, or help out, etc.

As for this 5 or 7 fish thing, if MSUAPM catches 5 or 7 fish I automatically declare myself the winner! That's usually a stretch for me, I like to keep my catch numbers pretty small (trying to keep the fishery strong).

I like the idea of a fruit jar set-up on lakes maybe within 20 miles E or W of I-55 and north of grenader and south of Memphis. Each boat can decide on partners or not, fishing style (trolling, jigging, old crank style telephones, etc). Kind of an open, easy format.

As for advertising, I say keep it initially to C.Com folks and word of mouth (people that we know that don't post here).

WB is spot on with the kid thing.....anyway that we can encourage kids fishing is money well spent in my opinion!

I didnt really mean "advertising" , just letting others outside C.C. in or not. Word of mouth will be good enough to have plenty of folks I think.

    Here's what I propose:

Not so much as a club, but a series of fruitjars. Maybe say 4 "tournaments". Say $25 a boat no matter if it's 1 or 12 people, best 5 fish wins, with a payout of 1 place per every 7 boats with $5 reserved for the 4th T, a championship. Top 10 boats eligible for the championship. Grenada, Enid and Sardis being the 3 lakes to be fished. I'm open to others along that path, but don't want to get too far off of 55, so it stays a true North MS deal.

Maybe the club thing will spring out of this, but let's make it more of a fun gathering rather than some rules driven club to get it off the ground. My thoughts would be to keep it affordable, fun, and easy at least initially.

Thoughts, criticisms, unwarranted personal attacks or downright rudeness anyone?

How about adding Butla for a 4 lake format? This sounds like a lot of fun and not so serious like the crappiemasters!
