If you've already got bass rods, then start with those. Should work fine and you won't have the extra money invested in a new strategy. Invest more if you decide you like it.

Navy is correct. Start with what you have and then invest from there if you like it. You need to come to Crankbait Fest next weekend at Sardis if you can. That way you can see various set ups and rod/reel combinations and then decide which approach would work best for you.

350 boats would fish it in its heydey. Last I heard were about 180 boats signed up. Economy puttin the hurt on green carp fishin. Can't imagine burnin' $ 100 worth of fuel a day to catch fish you have to throw back.

Are my Perooti's gonna be stout enough to handle cranks? Turning trolling rigs sideways in front pullin with trolling motor.
FISH-ON!!!!!
Them bassers won't bother me none. The most they ever say is "How bout it troller?" and it gives me a chance to ask if they are catching any crappie on spinner baits. Usually they catch a few off the deep points.
