Sounds as though the days of reckless abandon outdoors recreation are over for the average guy. We'll all someday have to become Democrats and fish from a 5 gallon bucket.

Buckets are only used during early spring.

Or fish out of pink kayaks we carry to the lake on top of our hybrid
    sub-compact

Yes Sir, that is exactly what I've been thinking lately. We have had a
charmed life, average Joes getting to own boats, pickup trucks, and campers
and run up and down the road doing our thing. As soon as they get around
to it, they are gonna tax us out of business. Of course the really wealthy
will carry on like always, just the working, middle class will be SOL.

Kinda like how all the land I hunted on growing up is in hunting clubs full
of doctors and lawyers now, and high rent.
Ever pay much attention to England? The Kings and Queens and such
go pheasant hunting, and the common people don't hunt? It's coming, here
    I'm afraid.

Amen, when I was younger I could ask any farmer for permission to duck hunt there land. They always said yes. In the mid 80's hunting leases became popular. Now I pay around 60k a year for my duck leases.

I wish I had invested my money in hunting land instead of 401k's and mutual funds. I would be alot better off.

Strong pro-ethanol advocates are pushing the Obama Administration and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to increase ethanol levels in gasoline to 15% (E15). As you may have read in BoatUS Magazine, ethanol at the currently allowed 10% (E10) level has been shown to cause significant problems for some marine engines and boat fuel systems.

You can learn more and send EPA comments at NMMA - Government Center
Thanks Jim. I've been having probs with my motor for past month and the article in link describes my problems exactly. By the way, your jigs work great!!!

Are you guys using any type of "stabilizer red or blue" , if the ethanol continues I believe I will just have to use the "red" all year , instead of just during the winter time....

would a fuel octane booster ? work in the same fashion ? any motor or fuel gurus out there??

    my 2 cents........

I've gone to Blue Stabil 100% of time in outboard gas. Still use red stabil in mower gas. I have also started running my outboard carb dry at the end of the fishing day on every trip.

Catchum. Glad the jigs worked for you.

JCnMS I would not run the carbs dry, when you starve a 2cycle for gas you also starve for oil.
