I talked to a game warden about it, and as I understood it, it is illegal to sale any fish that isn't "grown" for sale. Catfish seem to be an exception here, but I don't know if I understood him correctly. I also don't know if he knew what he was talking about. And I don't know if that's the rule everywhere. It came up in friendly conversation, so I threw the question out there. I wonder if he wrote my name and boat numbers down so he could watch out for me! He might think I was trying to get into the business.

i wonder if they actually sell alot. man those prices are outrageous. And I thought fishing for them was expensive.

I don't know how much of this is actually done, but if it is, it is probably in violation of the lacey act. See overview of it here: Lacey Act Overview If anyone has actual knowledge of these practices going on, maybe a federal gw should be contacted. They have bigger ticket books and more resources.

You'd hope a GW would get his BIG WHOOPIN stick out for this one. And you are right. For many years back they did comercial fish Reelfoot for crappie (with nets), and stopped the insaneness several years ago. It is JUST now, after 5 years, getting back to where you can catch a good crappie every now and then.

WB, I've got my covert skills, and my underground agents hot and heavy on this one. Can't say too much about it cause you never know when we've been "infiltrated", but trust me - I'm on it. Oh well then what's the problem? Canadians do a lot of stupid stuff and we have never held it against them before....

I don't care what other states let people do with thier recources...as long as good ole MS don't start letting people sell them, I got no problems.
