A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.
Bigger, there is a call on line 1 for you
Id like to preface this by saying It speaks volumes for you just to reply to this thead. I stand and bow to you sir.
BUT!
Its the selling of GAME fish and animals thats the problem. If the crappie you were selling WAS farm raised for the purpose of selling and eating...WELL then no roblems, but when some John Q. Taxpayer might get some enjoyment out of catching those fish or possibly taking his children to catch them and ur running nets in his fishing hole ITS A PROBLEM.
For the record.....Salmon, Shrimp, catfish etc aint game fish and dinosaurs used to be "abundant resources" too.
A little too dramatic you say??
Imagine this....Every body else that needed extra income decides to set up camp in friendly Canadian waters and catch and sell wild Canadian fish to the public.....you see where this is going. Its a bad trend to styart in my opinion and once its started their aint no stopping that snowball.
Nice to meet ya, but I aint buying.
Stick yo jig in there!
Take that ya Crappie selling gewber. Bwahahahaha
Actually, I'm proud of ole Bigger for giving a thoughtful response. Not only that, but I didn't see nary a one spelling or gramatical error. Just goes to show that he cares enough to have let his wife proof read it for him.
But, anywho, I tend to agree with the sentiment. Yes, you're not breaking the law, yes, you're just trying to make a living, yes, it's a free county, yes, you're within your rights. But that doesn't mean I have to like it. Just as there is a legal business somewhere in the world that sells ivory and tiger skins, the legitimate business provides cover for the black market. Same with pawn shops.
BTW, I wish you nor your business any harm, but I feel your legitimate business has the potential to do harm to the resource.

I hear you fellas you gotta defend your resources from being exploited and it's been done many times over. Seafood in general is getting ridiculous.
But I'm not selling ivory tusks, and who doesn't mind taking fish from the Canadians.....
But just to add some real info there is almost no commercial fishing on inland lakes in the US. I've heard about Reelfoot before and that was last commercial crappie operation in US I'd heard of. Finger Lakes in upstate NY I hear sometimes and Red Lake in my home state of MN is back after they nearly fished every single minnow out of it 5-10 years ago. Might be a few other Indian reservations I'm not aware of, but that's all I know of.
BTW, Once they fished all the walleye out of Red Lake it was the hot spot for monster crappie know throughout the area. Now the walleye are back so not as crazy. Hopefully it's managed a little better this time around.
