    Default New to the Forum!!

Well I have been reading on here for a long time now and decided the other day to join up and see what I can learn! I am real interested in learning all the techniques on how to troll!! I know nothing about it and would love to know how! So if anyone could give me some input or direction on it I am all ears!

Try myoutdoortv.com. Type in Midwest Crappie in the search box. Russ Bailey has some great shows regarding all different types of techniques for Crappie fishing. Welcome aboard!

    Hope this helps,

Trolling for crappie tends to be the best (my belief) and easiest ways to catch those elusive, wonderful tasting fish. Here are few suggestion to help you achieve a plate full of those mouth watering crappie.

Start out with two 1/16 baits (jigs) about eighteen inches apart.
Use a bobber setup (read article on bobbers)
Different colors as long there is chartreuse in the color scheme.
Cast out and let it out about 35 feet of line.
Troll or row .8 to 1. miles per hour in a zig zag pattern near willow pads, brush and remember they like shade.
Keep your pole in a pole holder set up.
Watch the bobber and or line. Remember just a twitch of the line or bobber is what you will be watching for.
DON’T stop the boat when trolling, have 2 people in the boat with multiple poles in the water. Keep as many poles as the law allows. If you don’t you will loose the correct depth where the fish are, then it is a matter of starting all over finding the depth etc.

Welcome to the forum, Mark. You have in your hometown some of the best trollers in the state. Some of them are members of this forum. Pstone, luvjign, oldbigun, trollingtexan just to name a few. Give one of'em a six pack and he'll probably show you enough to get started. Give him a 12 pack and he'll make a pro outta you. Sorry, wannabe, I almost forgot about you. (wannabe is our poet-laureate also)

Now just a dadgum minute. I was at the last city council meeting and I don't recall approving any more Grenada Crappie.com members. Maybe it was another of those executive session-closed door deals they're so fond of. :D

    Welcome, now who is you?

On the trolling thing, I guess you're talking more about spider rigging rather than trolling. Can't help you there, but I'm in the same boat sorta speak. I've got the rigs, but not the know how. Want to hook up and figure this thing out together? I figure we can spy on Pstone and Luvjign and maybe wire tap White Cap's phone. Between that and the GPS trackers on their boats, we shouldn't have much trouble.

I'll send you a PM in a minute.

Welcome to the board. Good bunch here, although a bit on the homely side , they do know they're Crappie.

BTW, willsjwills, nah, you had me pegged. I talk a whole lot more about fishing than I'll ever actually do.

A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.
