John you need to rename this post. The title doesn't do it justice...Something along the lines of "Fee to boat at Ross Barnett on hold".
Seems the proposed permits for Barnett and the pearl river are on hold.http://www.mdwfp.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=46493

I'm just glad things have stalled for now. Money grabbing suckers. If they got rid of some of the fat at the top, they wouldn't have $ problems. Way too many people on the payroll. Fat cats taking a free ride.:D:D:D
I dont see why the PRV doesnt have the athority to do this they are the ones who built and manage the Rez right? It is no diff than paying $11 a day to fish one of these so called state lakes or $3 a day to fish a COE lake.
Its Foolish and wrong to morn the men who died, instead we should thank God that such men lived.

I guess since it's already paid for AND making money in terms of leased land for homes. Now someone is proposing to build some kind of hydro generator where the spillway currently is, have it make power, pay the PRVWSD or someone a few bucks and then they will sell the power to someone.
John can we find we find out what the monthly payroll is over there at the office. i know that most everyone over there never is in the office, that the last Manager suddenly retired RIGHT after they ok'd the new LOST RABBIT DEVELOPMENT (Gonna be a FLOP BTW). I know they have to be spending a TON on vehicles, secretaries, helpers, etc. It surly isn't going into the bot ramps.
This lake was set up from the beginning to be PUBLIC. Land was hijacked from owners for the lake, then leased to folks who wanted lakeside property. This is a very touchy subject with a lot of folks who remember how it all came about. Being a public lake means FREE access to all.

Executive directer of pearl river basin development district makes $61,000.
Executive directer of pearl river valley water supply district makes $71,000.
The PRVWSD has 101 employees. Can't find salaries.
Anybody see the article in the Clarion Ledger this morning by Cleveland talking about the permits? Had some information in it that I didn't know about.
Once it's all said and done we still have a great lake with second rate docks, ramps, bathroom facilities, etc.... Wonder what will happen now?
