    Default Grenada Level

Are they keeping the gates closed or letting water out? I don't think there was much snow fall up north this winter to keep the Mississippi River at the level they want. Should we be worried they will continue dropping the water level and potentially mess up the spawn this spring? As of now the level is still about 4 feet below what it was the last two years at this time.

They are going to try to maintain the guide curve. Right now it's almost 3 feet above that. The COE doesn't look at recreation or fish population on flood control lakes. They try their best to maintain a healthy population, but not their number 1 goal.

Just been a dry spring. It's not going to necessarily mess up the spawn, only means they are easier to get to when not in flooded brush. It comes down to ethics of the fishermen, don't be greedy and only take what you need. The wind has been in favor of the fish mostly this month.

I knew they followed the guide curve, but I've never seen it to know what it looks like. Looking at the past two years at this time the level was 4-8 feet higher, and 3-4 years ago it was even higher. 215 is full pool and its at 207 now. I'm just wondering if they're gonna open the gates now that the lake is finally rising a little.

Not sure on Grenada. Lake Martin has rule on it. Coe sets it I know.

Thanks for the Lakes Online link.
Now another one to keep up with.

We've had a lot of rain this year, just not heavy or long rains.

This is the one that counts. Click on the blue links for any particular reservoir to see the guide curve and lake levels in a graph.
