    Default Tchoutacabouffa help

I am headed to lake Seminole and stopping at Tchoutacabouffa river at a campground for a couple days on the way. Is there crappie there? I have never been to Mississippi before. This looks like videos I have seen about Louisiana
I would be happy with anything that bites if no crappie.

I have a Lund boat with both a 115 and 9.9 motor. The boat gets in tight places.

I looked it up, know nothing about it.
Located in central Harrison County, the river empties into Biloxi Bay just north of Biloxi and south of Interstate 10 and is navigable 31 miles to the north. Tchoutacabouffa is the Biloxi tribe’s word for “broken pot.” Southern Mississippi art potter George E. Ohr, who worked in the late 19th and early 20th century, dug much of the clay he used for his works locally from the Tchoutacabouffa River. The river is navigable in a small fishing boat for most of its length with excellent large-mouth bass and bream fishing through-out. Seasonally, crappie can be caught in the river’s backwater areas. The Tchoutacabouffa River can be accessed from Biloxi Bay and from a private boat launch at the Cedar Lake Road crossing.

BOAT LOADS! Enjoy yourself. I just posted the Jourdan river, a few miles west, fishes the same. 14ft was where the quality fish came from but you will need to switch colors as it's raining here. Pink Puke and Black Chartreuse will be your colors. I'm fishing 1/16oz heads with #4 hooks. They are deep in cover and don't seem to want to come out. I just cleaned 25 yesterday, all females had eggs but not ready to spray. Late this year dure to early chill hours. I have 800 chill hours peach trees breaking dormancy. That will tell you how out of the norm our the colder weather pattern for our area. Pearl River, Jourdan river, Biloxi river, and Pascagoula river are all on the same horizontal line. Coastal rivers have Crappie in abundance. They do not get as big as non-flowing Impoundments like Lakes due to the constant tidal changes.

I got out today. I fished five hours from I 10 north about a mile or so on trolling motor. Saw fish unknown type on live scope not interested in my jig by two different bridges pilings. Nothing casting shore for bass or panfish. Made it into a finger that had cleaner water by a campground got two bass on a wacky worm and a tiny bluegill on a jig. The area I fished was in some videos and those guys did much better
nothing off the shore by my site
off to lake Seminole tomorrow for over a week
Thanks canebreaker thanked you for this post
