    Default Ross Barnett

Hi all. I've been wanting to fish the rez for years. But I don't really know how to get there. What I really need is a good map. Anyone know of a good map that might help me find the landings?
    Thanks

You can get hotspots maps online and they are pretty good. I’d really want a gps and map card for fishing though. Pretty much only 2 ramps you need though - patchier and Tommy’s at 43.

Hwy 43 bridge ramp is pretty safe for the truck and trailer left behind.
I've always use the one at Goshen Springs campground and pull the trailer back to my site.
Go under the bridge about 25 yards and you'll be in the beginning of the welfare hole.

What they said. I only use Hwy 43 or Goshen Springs Campground since we have a camper there. This time of year the ramp next to Cock of the Walk puts you right at the bottom where spawning takes place behind the condominiums.

Thank all of you for your help.
I went to Goshen today just riding. Could you give some more info. I'm bipolar and get lost at Walmart Ross Barnett Where is the welfare hole.? Where is the spawning area? Eastside or Westside of the bridge. THE reason I asked about a map. I thought it may help me find those spots. My garmin has a map card. I haven't used it at the res cause I haven't been there with the boat yet. I live 30 miles from Grenada which is too low to fish.

Sorry. Bad typing. Meant Pelahatchie Bay. There’s a ramp on the south end of the levee that puts in to the bay. Welfare hole is just south of the 43 bridge. Starts 25 yards from bridge. From
What I recall, working the pelahatchie cause way rip rap early for pre spawn in pretty popular

Grenada is fishable as of 2/7. I fished Wednesday and had 4’ of water coming out of marina. They really pulled the water back down but more rain on the
Way so I expect it will remain open.

If you can zoom in on google earth look to the westside of the Hwy 43 bridge. I see boats in a few different spots. The old river has a few tight twist in that area.
Upriver, eastside of the bridge is a great spawning area. It's loaded with stumps. Be careful, someone had a brainy idea of marking them with rebar ages ago. Rotted off to points that can damage a boat. Plus the gators like that area.
