I will be camping at Piney Grove , Bay Springs Lake on 9/16 and 9/17. Im not taking my Crappie boat but will have my Kayak. Just wondering if anyone has any updates on fishing close to the Camp Ground. My first time to Bay Springs.

Do you have a depth finder on your kayak, other means to travel than paddles?
We stay in site #128 mostly. If we can't get it we try for 126 or 137. There's a bit of beach behind site 113 that we launch from mostly. By the pier at site 73 is a small beach too. What site have you reserved?
Look south at the next point, there's a white sign, Boy Scout camp. Out from the 2nd and 3rd inlets you can find habitat in 30 ft of water. Plan to fish 24 ft deep. A 1/100th white jig and a 1/8th oz sinker 3 ft above does pretty good.
Only a paddle for the kayak. no depth finder. Old school. staying in site 109 out on the point
thanks for the info!

I put a Minn Kota 30 trolling motor on my kayak powered by a 12v-18ah battery. Had it out once for a 3 hour trip in the morning and a 3 hour trip in the evening at low speed. Meter showed I had 2 hours left.
We're building a double launch trailer, with ladder rack it will haul 4 on top.
Lots of big rocks along the point to stop erosion. Look at this map, it may help.

Guess he doesn't want us to know.
Sorry folks, i have been off line for a while. I did not catch any fish. Spent about 2 hours out one day with a drop shot rig bumping the bottom as the wind pushed the Kayak. First time to Bay Springs, camp ground was wonderful. The lake is amazingly clear. Thanks for all the help!!

Bay Springs is a lot harder to fish than Sardis, Nader. You got to have a fish finder for sure.
