A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.

There's been a few family and friend's funerals during the pandemic that we didn't go to. My wife's uncle's funeral was Tuesday. I went since she isn't able to travel far. I left home at 8:30 am, drove 155 miles to the funeral home. Stopped along the way to buy okra. Stopped along the way to visit a cousin. It was 8:45 pm when I got home.
Wednesday, I sliced okra. I bought 15 pounds @ $1 per pound. They gave me 20 pounds that was starting to get old. Some of it was tough, no wonder it was $1 per pound. I measured the slices into a quart jar, dumped into seal-a-meal bags for the freezer. Dug and removed a few items from the freezer for dinner and make room for the bags of okra.

I check the site daily. If nothing I want to comment on I pass on by. I could start a rambling thread, but one got me banned years ago. Some people don't know how to comment on a rambling thread.

My mudhole is in risk of drying out if we don't get another 4 inches of rain soon.. other than that I ain't got nothing. Okra for a $1 a pound sounds about like it's worth. Most folks I know growing anything been keeping the squirrels, deer and rabbits fat!

Most okra I see around here is $4 per lb. I'm getting a lot of tough pods that go into the scrap bucket.

Must be the weather this year? I’m not an okra fan, but the group of friends and neighbors who gift produce back and forth with my parents - I’ve heard a lot of talk of it being tough
