Got a 2017 service truck with a 6.7 in it, just had all kinds of issues. 68,000 miles retaining clip that holds camshaft in broke and cause shaft to get play in it and wore out the seal. Was leaking oil pretty good. While they were in repairing that they noticed timing cover was cracked. About a 5 grand fix for both. These newer diesels just aren't as reliable anymore.

Had a 2011 6.7 Powerstroke drop a valve at 99,600 and ruined the engine. When I bought the Dodge. Got another 2011 6.7 Powerstroke that is still running strong, so go figure.

At 245,000 the 5.9 is just getting broke in!

Yeah, I grew up driving diesels. At least in light duty vehicles they weren’t very good in the beginning - 80’s. But have seen the rise and I’m afraid the fall. I blame EPA, but also the manufacturers, and a little bit the customers. The tightening emissions plus the power race led to where we are. The old first gen 5.9’s were near indestructible, but you couldn’t give em to most people now with 160 horsepower and 400 foot pounds.
    Everybody in too much hurry.

EPA is 98% to blame in my opinion. Not going get political and all cause against the rules. But the EVs aren't working out to well either. Ford sure feeling the crunch on that one so far. How far some will go to prove a point is beyond me, but as usual the little man always pays the price! I expect bailouts soon via your friendly taxpayer.

Thursday while at Senatobia I walked the walmart store. (Heart doctor says I need to walk more.) Wonder if walking in an ac building is better or worse than walking outdoor. On the clearance aisle I found 3 different size dry bags at near half price, got the medium size. Double paddles for the kayak at half price, got 2. A folding rocking chair that will be used while camping for $35, got 2. GCI Outdoor Freestyle Rocker XL, Pewter Gray, Adult Chair - Walmart.com A walk around at Kay's supermarket, got 2 packs of minutes steaks @ $5 per lb.
A stop at walmart in Hernando for another walk around. Didn't see anything I wanted.
One thing I'm looking for, my wife takes a Midnite sleep aid every night. It's 1.5 MG Melatonin. Kroger had them for $10, walmart $8. Had a good supply horded for a while. In a 20 miles radius I've found 2 packs at a drugstore @ $13. The website shows none in stock.
Coldwater trade day this weekend. I parked about 100 yards from the entrance, 4 lanes that are about 200 to 300 yards long. I walked it twice. Most of the stuff I see at the auction house. One guy had small bins of hardware stuff that I looked over. 3 vendors had canned stuff, I looked them over for pear preserves. The first had half pints for $12, I walked off. The second had pints for $10, turn the jar over and the bubble was at the top as fast. The 3rd had pints for $7, turn the jar over and it took 4 seconds for the bubble to come up, I got 2.

Sure has gotten hot today. Weather saying 97 with a heat index of 125, I believe it. Was out by hernando point this morning, seen the wardens had a couple guys in a boat stopped that came to fish. Been wondering why warden's still sit there everyday with no lake access or fish to be had??

Seems reverse psychology is at work now. Used to you had to wait until drunks came off the water, now they just drive up to you in a stupor of sorts!

I followed a decked out crappie boat down Hwy 301 to the J&J location. I stayed at my son's house a bit over an hour. When I got to 301 again the same boat was headed north. Guess they didn't see the notice about the lake being closed.

I know how hot it was, I was soaked to the knees when I came back into the house after working on the trailer.

I think I cursed myself writing that I wasn’t planning on doing anything for the next few weeks. Looking at the weather, bet my horses hay dealer will cut and bale this week. 50 square bales to be picked up and put in the barn Wake up gewbers

Boiled okra is fine. Just have to remember to cross your legs before you swallow.

Ordered 250 bales from a local guy before his first cut. Never heard from him so I called. He told me he wound up round bailing most of it. He had 50 square bales he did sell me. Hard to find square bales around here right now.

Yeah I realize I’m lucky to have the neighbor I do who humors me. He’d rather round bale most of it too. Hayfield about 2 miles from our barn. After my wreck the first year, he put it on his trailer and came backed it into the barn hall and unhooked, said keep it long as you need. Not many left like him!
