Default BIG Fish of the Day!

Jourdan River was HOT Today! 97 degrees, had to put up the top. Didn't stop the bite, got out before any SeeDoo drivers woke up. Water is off color still from the last rains but the fish wanted "AH Natural" colors only. Brite flashy jig fisherman went hungry today. Didn't try hand tied jigs today the Baby Shad was just too easy to use Sticking Steel to a Crappie's Mouth Roof. Funny the bites were so lite you could barely feel the tick. Since there are no cavities in Baby Shad to pump full I did a little G-Sauce Soak every few drops of the jig. I think the G-Sauce made them hold the jig a little longer as I caught several real River Slabs but never felt them fishing the mono. Very slightly swimming the jig while watching my rod tip, it would just start loading up.

I also cast a Black Road Runner with a Threadfin Baby Shad Super Glued on for a ridiculous Good Time! When the bite slowed with the Vertical presentation variations I would back off and cast, counting down a bit before starting a slow, slow, retrieve. No trouble feeling those bites, Road Runners are a Fantastic summer bait. Half of the fish in the box were caught on the Black Road Runner / Threadfin Baby Shad combo .

I never post a big fish picture like the other guys on this site but this one may be a personal best. The 14ft Wally Marshall Signature Lews rods I use really turn a big fish in the thickest structure piles. When this monster hit I launched it into orbit. Needless to say nothing wrong with my Hook Set!

Awesome job. Black Road Runner with Threadfin Shad sounds like a good bait. Bright chartreuse was the winning color for me today. Good job
