My guess on rod holders they would need to openen where the butt of the rod sits in the holder. Then have to worry about fraying the line on the front sections of the rod holder.
Trolling is a broad term. Probably get more answer's if specify the type of trolling. Spider rigging, long lining, power trolling, crankbaits (flat lining or planer boards). Line out versus depth will vary in each one of those categories.
Ideal in any scenario are at minimum mid seat trolling rods with atleast spinning reels. Then you have bait casters and line counting bait cast reels. The latter used specifically for long line trolling or crankbaits.
Not saying you couldn't give spider rigging a whirl, but the others will be tough with rear seat jig poles and reels.
Where at are you in MS? I think a have an older 4 pole holder T bar set up from Driftmaster I could give ya.
