Late January, early February is kinda early for trolling the big four. Most crappie are checking out brush piles for spawning.
I’m a North Carolina guy looking to come fish Mississippi. Thinking about late January- early February trip. I’ve always wanted to fish Grenada but understand that there might be better lakes to try. I spider rig most of the time. So I’m asking for some advice on best lake to try and should come at a different time of year? Thanks any help!

Yes, What He said. I'm single poling Ross Barnett that time of year. April Fools day is my Trigger Day and then you see more fishing two poles, one in each hand, for spawning fish, not too many Spider rigging.

Lake Washington will be hot around that time. And you will still be able at spider rig plenty of fish on any of the big 4 depending on water level… water is so low in Grenada you can’t even get into the lake

Erin has a good point. Lake Washington is a smaller Oxbow without a lot of structure out in the main lake. Numerous Cypress Trees on the Western side and most importantly their Viper population (the largest I have ever seen) should not be out so bad as when it's warm. Super Spider rigging lake. Dock Shooting has issues as most of the dock owners have installed cables, boards, even hog wire to prevent dock shooting under their docks. I should add the ramp on the North end of the lake is really steep and needs repairs if you compare it to other ramps around. You may consider launching at the South end. The deeper water in closer to the bottom anyway.
