Ross Barnett lake
I'm going to be installing a project in Pearl MS, noticed Ross Barnett was close, how is the fishing there over the winter months? May bring my boat down to try putting some MS crappie in the boat.
Appreciate any information,
Ray

Ray I don't hit Ross Barnett much this late in the year but have discovered treating the Rez the same as I fish here on the coast provides me with as much as I want to clean. Lots of "Shorts" this fall. I culled except fish that were bleeding. The last Hurricane moved numerous trees I had marked over the years seeming to scatter the crappie from their normal hangouts. I have a camper on the Rez, fishing from the Hwy 43_Tommy's boat ramp mostly. BTW Tommy's has anything you need, live bait, a kitchen, ice, Non-ethanol gas.

I went Sunday afternoon and caught enough for supper. All the fish I caught were pigs...and let a whale get off at the boat. I think there are adjusting to these cold nights but I would go fishing.

I like that description, "Pigs". Ross Barnett fish are always larger than our local "river" fish even though I'm still fishing in the Pearl. Just the Pearl's Delta. It is more like fishing up river instead of out in the open water of the Rez.
