Want to get some 16’ers for spider rigging. BGJP or PST? Go!

Give a man a fish and feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish and he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day!

I use BnM Capps and Colemans for spider rigging. I use PST's for pulling crankbaits.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

The BGJP is a good choice for spider rigging also.....a lot of folks use that one.

I use both for a very strange reason. Their reel offsets are just right so that I can wrap up six of them neatly together (for travel or storage) and they take up less space. All the reels ain't hitting each other that way! Just my thing, but it works for me. I also use folding handles. I like the fact that I can hold 6 rods and reels together with a single small bungie.

    Easy answer. Yes.

BJGP for up to 1 oz at moderate speeds.

PSTs for over 1 oz or at faster speeds.

BGJPs are better at true spider rigging but work for long lining and are capable of crank baits, but barely at moderate speeds.

PSTs are better all around double duty rods…spider rigging, crank baits, power troll up to 3 oz, but I limit them to 2 oz

If you can only have one set, I’d get PSTs. Only place they really fall down is light weights with a soft, finicky bite.

A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.

PS. Don’t listen to Slab about mixing rods. Yeah, he does that but all the other crappie kids snicker behind his back at the boat ramp.

I’m a PST man. They just have always seemed like a good, versatile, all around rod. I’ve never had any complaints with mine. I’ve spider rigged with them, pulled cranks, doesn’t matter.
