Made it to The Rez for the weekend to single pole. My cull factor is high so only kept 20 for 2 days but threw back a bunch. I caught fish 18 inches to 11ft deep. Scattered, aggressive, males & females, all deeper fish hit hard the shallow fish I rarely felt. Was fishing 1/32oz with #2 sickle hook shallow, slow sinking, with a nibble worked well. What I didn't know since I usually fish during the week is how many people fish the exact same spot. I was amazed to see one boat after the other stop on a spot, fish, leave, and within minutes sometimes another boat would come off the river channel and fish the same spot. Most were the obvious, easy to see submerged structure, others were points where Y's were. Either way seems a waste of valuable fishing time. Water temps were all over the place too, 65 degrees flowing to 75 degrees off the channel in backwaters.
The first picture is heading out Caney Creek from launch, beating the bass tournament guys to the water. The other is fish in the livewell by 9am single pole fishing. I didn't see another boat catch a fish in 3 days.

Proud Member of Team Geezer!Rojo thanked you for this post
Bud I have a few thing happening this weekend and Monday next week then we are heading back to the Rez. I have 115 Pecan trees to "Top Work", going to knock out 1/2 of that Saturday. I went to install a computer on a Yamaha F250TXR while there I checked the lower unit oil and it had water so Monday I have to drive the lower unit to Houma LA to the best lower unit guru in the region for seals. We were planning to head up there Monday but I need to get the unit in the shop so it will be ready for me to pickup when we get back. If our trip drags into next weekend maybe you will be out fishing too.
