Crappie Masters results from last weekend show 1014 crappie caught with average weight per fish at 2.46 pounds. The winning team and second place team each weighed 14 fish that AVERAGED OVER 3 LB EACH! I'd say that Grenada is on fire.

I don’t think they are gonna spawn this year in Mississippi.

I think that big fish kill in the winter really hurt them

I think you’re right. Either that or they all caught the COVID.

I know this may be an unpopular opinion but the internet has really overcrowded crappie fishing. There is a group of lazy fisherman that sit, read and wait for people to post things then off to the lake they go. My buddy ScottV use to be one of the biggest posters here and I will never forget 4 Spring Breaks ago I was fishing on the same lake as him and a boat came by me fishing and said "hey, do you know ScottV?" I said, yeah. Then what he said floored me, "can you tell me what color boat he has and where he fishes? Me and my 2 buddies have been reading the internet and see where he catches a bunch of fish on this lake. We are gonna find him and follow him to see where his spots are?"
I told them I would not be helping them play follow the leader....Called Scott and told him the story. Heck I enjoy Facebook simply bc it is a place to share pictures for free with my friends and family. I can not post a picture of crappie anymore without 10 people calling me or messaging me asking exactly where, how deep, what color......It is really annoying to me. I hate to be a scrooge but I don't want to play bumper boat with someone that is just playing follow the leader. If you find the same hole as me...so be it, but don't call me or text me about where I am so you can come crowd me and then bring 4 of your buddies. Rant over

I agree macpappy. It’s unfortunate that people are that way. I learned my lesson in high school when I took what I thought was a buddy to a close public duck hole that only me and 2 other people knew about. Next time I showed up to hunt there were 6 guys in the hole. That place never was the same and neither was I.
My wife showed me a pic of a nice 6-7 lb bass caught at the local lake the other day. Whoever caught it posted it on Facebook. I told my wife that person would regret it tomorrow. Her response was, “not everyone’s an a** like you.” Next day I drove by and on a 3 acre lake there was 10-15 people fishing. I find it comical. Eventually they will all learn.
