I agree, Here in Iowa they are bad too. If you catch a fish around other boats here they come. Next thing you know the whole area is covered with bobbers jigs and commotion. No respect any more.

Used to be that whenever a fisherman saw another working an area he would steer clear out of respect. Not that way any more. At least for the majority. I still run into some locals in Grenada that respect my space, but not many.

I said, yeah. Then what he said floored me, "can you tell me what color boat he has and where he fishes? Me and my 2 buddies have been reading the internet and see where he catches a bunch of fish on this lake. We are gonna find him and follow him to see where his spots are?"
I told them I would not be helping them play follow the leader....Called Scott and told him the story. Heck I enjoy Facebook simply bc it is a place to share pictures for free with my friends and family. I can not post a picture of crappie anymore without 10 people calling me or messaging me asking exactly where, how deep, what color......It is really annoying to me. I hate to be a scrooge but I don't want to play bumper boat with someone that is just playing follow the leader. If you find the same hole as me...so be it, but don't call me or text me about where I am so you can come crowd me and then bring 4 of your buddies. Rant over
Unpopular or not. Sometimes the truth hurts. I was just talking about how my dad used to scull us around fishing. Yesterday it took me 40 minutes to launch arriving at 630am. Parking lot was full. The vehicles, boats, gear on many of those rigs was $100k-$200k. Crazy the amount of $$ spent on catching fish. Times have changed.

Ive always thought that finding the fish on my own was half the fun. I share info with others but ill never plan my trip based on what somebody told me. I do miss the pics i used to see on here especially scottv’s ironing board. Been so busy at work since COVID broke out this site was my only link to fishing haven’t had time to make a trip at all this year.

Y’all know as well as I do that what the fish do one day is not necessarily what they do the next. Sometimes general depth and areas are beneficial but by the time information is posted and spread either the fish or conditions have changed. When I go, I just start fishing where I think they should be and keep on trying different spots until I find them. Las week I fished three hours with no bite and then filled the limit in two spots.

I don’t think they are gonna spawn this year in Mississippi.

What happened that makes you feel the spawn will be affected this year?

Is this all over MS or just the notable 4 lakes area?

    Just curious.

    Thanks

I was just funning. The spawn is on schedule at Grenada. Of course we have to put up with the rains and the cold fronts that come through, but there are some good fish being caught.
