    Default Trolling Rack Advice

About to finalize the purchase of a 2020 Nitro Z19. I really would rather not drill holes in a brand new boat. Does anyone have the Driftmaster crows foot setup? How is that for you as far as stability goes. The boat dealer says it tends to wear out the carpet in the spot it sits. I was thinking to add something underneath to stop that. Just wondering if anyone has a better idea. I know the drilled in plates is best but I hate to drill holes right off the bat.

Go ahead and drill the holes and enjoy your new boat.

My first act when I got my new Excel Storm Cat home was to cut FIVE 4.5 inch holes in it. Got to set it up the way you will use it and not look back. Measure twice, drill once!

    Some good advice there!
Plan the best you can, make it yours.
Before long you won’t think anything of punching holes in it.

    Default Trolling Rack Advice

Years ago I bought the Triton TR-20x I still fish out of. I had the dealer drill holes and add 2 pedestals before I trailered it home. Have since added multiple rod holders, mounts, pedestal bases etc.
My opinion is set up it how you want now to maximize enjoyment. Don’t fumble around with inadequate riggings and 3 years from now wish you had made the modifications 3 years ago.
Just my thoughts, but it’s your boat!! Lol.
    Enjoy it!!

In my opinion you would be a lot happier with two brackets than the Driftmaster. I bought one and used it once then installed the brackets. The crows foot moved and was more trouble than I thought it would be. I also bought a seat pedestal that inserted into the bracket and had arms out to the other two seat pedestal locations. The front of my boat was way too cluttered. I took the device out and installed the floor brackets. The front end of my boat is a lot less cluttered and more comfortable to fish now.

Floor brackets and Millenium racks. Get 2 racks, one for each side. Can't go wrong with that setup. Get two sets of floor brackets and you can push or pull with the same set up. Or you can do as I did and buy 2 sets of racks and then your covered no matter what.
